LEGO - Star Wars™ X-Wing Starfighter™ | Set 75355

The X-Wing Starfighter from LEGO is the third of its kind in the UCS series. This is unfortunate. The Star Wars universe is so vast that such repetitions would not be necessary.

Admittedly, there are some improvements in the package. A printed window and finally a plaque, as well as the best Luke minifigure in a pilot uniform that LEGO has ever made. The set has almost no stickers, and there are hardly any unnecessarily colorful parts.

Pricewise, the set is at the level of its 10-year-old predecessor, making it even cheaper when adjusted for inflation. It’s a well-rounded package, without the usual LEGO problems.

However, a lot went wrong with the design. The wings feel a bit too short. The engines, which were slightly too small in the previous version, are now too big, and the front is definitely too thick. Individually, none of this issues is problematic, but when combined, the X-Wing Starfighter appears quite chubby as a result. The fact that there is no landing gear is painful, but with the poorly closing wings, it wouldn’t have been any fun anyway.
