The 2022 Ford GT from LEGO only has one problem: the wrong name! It bears surprisingly little resemblance to the GT, instead its bulky proportions in the front and rear resemble the original GT40 from the 60s a lot better. However, for that one it has the wrong color.
Aside from that, we have a solid LEGO Technic model before us. It is easy to build, the quality of the pieces is good, and it is reasonably priced.
There aren’t many technical functions, but they do work. I miss having the steering wheel connected, though. Clear headlights instead of milky ones would have been better I believe, and I’m not sure what LEGO was thinking with the transparent cylinder heads.
However, the Dark Blue with the White stripe looks nice. The large sticker sheet can be mostly ignored, and LEGO has even printed a 1x1 tile with GT on it. I would have liked the Ford logo on the hood and the license plate to be printed as well.
Overall, it is a solid model with no major weaknesses, but not much excitement in the box either.
